Hi, I’m Jennifer LaVancha.
You can love your partner and still feel disconnected. You can care deeply about your family and feel exhausted by the same arguments. You can look like you have it all together and still need somewhere to put everything you’ve been carrying.
You don’t have to have the right words or know exactly where to start to come to therapy.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with couples, families, adults, and teens. I help couples navigate infidelity, rebuild trust, work through conflict, and strengthen emotional and physical intimacy. I also support people navigating complex PTSD, family conflict, life transitions, and anxiety, including teens experiencing the pressures of growing up.
In my work with trauma and complex PTSD, we explore how painful experiences may continue to influence your relationships, your sense of safety, and the way you see yourself. I am trained in Brainspotting, which I integrate when appropriate to help clients process distressing experiences. We work collaboratively, with attention to your readiness, comfort, and goals.
My approach is warm, honest, and down-to-earth, with room for humor. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, including the parts you’re worried might be “too much.” We can make space for difficult emotions, notice patterns, practice new ways of communicating, and sometimes share a laugh along the way. I’ll support you while also helping you look at what may be keeping you stuck.
Growing up, I watched my parents open our home to children in foster care. That experience helped shape my interest in relationships, belonging, and how our experiences influence the ways we connect with others.
I earned my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. My work is grounded in a person-centered approach. However I also find value in the integration of various treatment modalities.
I offer in-person therapy in Roseville and telehealth throughout California. I offer a free 15-minute phone/video consultation before your first session to explore your goals for therapy and to ensure we are good fit.
Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your relationship, or your family, we can start with where you are.
